Discover our Touraine itinerary, featuring four enchanting châteaux for Christmas: Château de Chenonceau, Château d’Amboise, Château de Langeais and the royal city of Loches. All decorated and illuminated for the festive season, an enchantment for young and old alike.

Many thanks to the Touraine region for introducing us to these castles during the festive season, and for immersing us in an enchanted universe.

Château de Chenonceau

Our journey began at Château de Chenonceau, that illustrious Loire Valley residence nicknamed the Château des Dames. Nestled in the heart of Touraine, on the banks of the Cher River, the château reveals itself to us in the early hours of the morning, shrouded in a mysterious mist.

The château’s resident florists open the doors of their workshops, passionately sharing their craft and unveiling the carefully prepared arrangements that will adorn the château in its finest finery for Christmas.

Inside, a fairytale-like atmosphere unfolds. The château, adorned with flowers, fir trees and lights, is transformed into a magical place. Every room in the Château des Dames is carefully decorated, offering a delightful spectacle in every corner. The grand gallery, with its white fir trees, creates an enchanted forest within the château itself, creating an impressive and captivating spectacle. The kitchens are decorated with sculptures of sweets and candies designed for the occasion by the local confectioner.

An unforgettable experience that combines the grace of architecture with the magic of Christmas.

Château d’Amboise

We had the pleasure of visiting the charming Château d’Amboise, nestled in the heart of the eponymous town. From the moment we entered, the festive atmosphere greeted us with majestic fir trees and lights evoking childhood dreams.

As we explored, every room in the château was transformed into a fairytale, imbued with the magic of Christmas. Richly decorated fir trees and delicate illuminations transformed the castle’s historic architecture, creating a warm, enchanted atmosphere. Every nook and cranny revealed scenes evoking the spirit of the season, transporting visitors into a world of dreams and wonder. It was a captivating way to discover the history of the site while celebrating the timeless magic of the festive season.

Château de Langeais

Our exploration of the region led us to the Château de Langeais, an architectural gem midway between the Renaissance and the Middle Ages. The show begins at the entrance, where the drawbridge unfurls majestically before us. Inside, the chateau’s rooms are meticulously decorated in the theme of light, creating an atmosphere both mysterious and elegant.

A surprise awaited in one of the rooms, where a screen lit up to reveal Stéphane Bern, who passionately recounted the captivating history of the château and the major events that have marked French history. This immersion added a lively dimension to our experience, transporting the past through the tales of a passionate expert.

To round off our visit, a foray into the art of calligraphy was an enriching experience. We were introduced to the art of writing to form beautiful letters. It was an immersive and interactive way to conclude our discovery of the Château de Langeais, combining history and craftsmanship for a memorable experience.

The Royal City of Loches

To conclude our Christmas tour of châteaux, we explored the Cité Royale de Loches. Nestled high above the town, we discovered the imposing keep and medieval towers, timeless witnesses to bygone eras.

In the logis Royal, our visit took a magical turn. This monument steeped in history was adorned with decorations evoking timeless fairytales such as Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White. The rooms of the dwelling were imbued with the fairytale spirit, creating an enchanting atmosphere that transported us into a world of legends.

At every step, history and Christmas magic blended harmoniously, offering an unforgettable experience in the heart of the Royal City of Loches. It was a captivating way to round off our itinerary, fusing historical heritage with the fairytale imagination of classic tales for a total immersion in the magic of the festive season.
